fuel gauge

I know this has been talked about on here a thousand times, but just want to be sure, my gauge just stays at full, maybe four times all summer it would drop to empty, then go back to full reguardless of fuel level in tank...still sound like the sending unit....2000 Montana ...

Re: fuel gauge

check the pass-thru connector driversside second row seat floorboard. underside two connector boxes the biggest is the one the fuel pump and sending unit wires passthru to the upperside of the floorboard.these are bad to corrode on the inside the moisture seal that g.m. used didn't work. if it is green in it try spraying an electrical cleaner in it. this could be where your problem is. years ago if a sending unit lost ground it would go to full and stay there.
