Smile Fuel Filter Location - 2002 Sport Trac

Hello All - I just picked up a 2002 Sport Trac for my daughter and am in the process of doing the "prevent" maintenance.

Can someone tell me where the fuel filter is located?

thanks in advance....

Did you look through the very first sticky on this forum, "Fuel Filter Replacement w/ pics?"

Yes, I did see that but that is for a 2004 - is it the same location? If someone can verify that its the same location, then I think I have my answer.

thanks

Re: Fuel Filter Location - 2002 Sport Trac

I can't tell from the service manual. The instructions for the Sport/Sport Trac (covers both models in this section) make no mention of needing to remove a shroud and the picture has a few lines (probably brake lines) running just below it.

I no one posts back, you may just need to crawl underneath your truck, follow the fuel line from the tank forward until you find the filter. The filter in the manual diagram looks to be the same filter shown in the sticky, and very similar to what you 2000 Mountaineer uses.
