Thumbs up Giving up! 1996 Corvette PICS

I was building this car for a customer and they them sold the car and did not want the replica I was building.

Check it out!

The kit is complete just needs your time. It doesn't fit with the cars I like to build.

That's a bugger!

Did they at least pay for the kit? Did you make a loss in the end?

So far I'm out the $11.99 for the kit, $3.89 for the paint, and $$$$ for my time. All parts of the kit are painted and the bocy has been buffed and waxed to smooth perfection.

Hope I can help someone else out.

Kevin

Doh!

Think it would make more and appeal to more people if it were finish though. Seen a few finish pieces go on ebay for generous sums of cash.

You should keep it. I got models that don't "fit in" with the others I make but they look good so I keep them there. I think your paint looks excellent so you should keep it where you can see it at least. You did all that work so why not recognise the great job you did by keeping her?

I've said it before...
Avoid going "into business" with this hobby! If you insist, come up with a realistic idea of time and materials, charge no less than $10.00 per hour for your labor, and get 1/2 the money before even buying the kit!!
The pricetag will usually keep the non-players from wasting your time. If the price hasn't shocked them into reality and they write the check, THEN you start building...
