99 CAVALIER starter

I have a 99 cavalier that went dead and I replaced the starter and now the starter engages but won't disengage now. Now the car will run but burning up alternators please help

return the starter and get a new one. Could be a back stater solenoid or its just sticky.

yes the solenoid isn't working properley so return it get a nother one like he said you might have to have shims that need to shim it up right.
