Re: Headlights surrounding

We seriously need more information; your question is far too vague.

What type of surround? Inside or outside? Color? Finish?

Look at pictures of a real car and use hobby paints to simulate the colors. That's all I can say with such little information.

Re: Headlights surrounding

Black is best done w/a black Sharpie permanent marker; chisel or pointed (cone shaped) tip. Fast and easy.

Re: Headlights surrounding

Try this. Take the headlight lens (before it's installed) and run a black sharpie around the edge. You can angle the pen is just a way to get most of the ink on the side of the piece, with only a very thin line on the top of the plastic (the front of the lens). It's delicate work, because you'll have a hard time holding the lens and getting all the way around the piece without mucking it up with your fingers. If you can do it in two stages (one half, then the other), that seems to work best for me.

Install with clear glue of some sort (I actually use Future floor polish...) and you should be good.

I've had mixed results with this. The end result depends a bit on how well the lens itself actually fits to the body. The better the fit, the better the result.

Good luck!!

Murray
