Exclamation Engine stops while parked ( Its not the radiator )

Well i drove my 1987 Beretta Gt to the local grocery store i pull into a stall and put it into park and the engine quits. A bit of white smoke came up from under the hood. So i get out, pop the hood and everything looks fine. i get what i need from the store the cars starts up just fine and i make it home. i told my dad about what happened to get his opinion. I tried to start it back up again but it wouldn't start. my dad poops off the crank case ventilation pipe and we were gone try shooting some fuel in to see if it would fire. i get that ready about five mins later i was tried starting it up and it tuned over and started up all by itself.

Any suggestions as to what might have happened and what i can do to prevent it

thanks

Re: Engine stops while parked ( Its not the radiator )

I have fixed the problem i replaced my crankshaft sensor and no more dieing. And i also found out about the smoke. It was a pinhole leak in my power steering (hydraulic fluid + exhaust manifold = Smoke)
