is it a Judge
I am looking at a 69 GTO that is being represented as a Judge and don't know how to tell. The vin #242379b117417 The cowl tag reads:
ST 69 24237 Bal 517369 bdy TR 258 65 B PNT 10 B B 035235 Any help on this would be great as the is no build sheet to help Thanks |

Larry,
You can't tell from the VIN. Send the VIN to Pontiac Historic Services, along with $40 (I think) and they'll send you a copy of the build sheet. One quick way to tell if it's a clone, is to open the trunk. If the springs will support the weight of the trunk lid with the wing installed, chances are good it IS a Judge. If not, it's either had the springs replaced with GTO springs, or it is a clone. The genuine "Judge" springs are pretty scarce. The PHS method is the most secure, and I DO advise it, as there are too many clones out there today. You can do a quick "google" on Pontiac Historic Services to find them. Pontiac always stuck a copy of the build sheet under the rear seat... Jim |

Going by the vin is the only way to go and you can find this on the internet by putting in "69 Pontiac GTO" in the search engines sites.
