2000 siL ABS info

over the last 2 months the ABS would very rarely come on [brake pedal] pulsing at 1-2mph going down a very steep grade...last week this has rapidly increased in this failure...

since it was tire rotation time I decided to check this out ... I did this 6years ago before they even had the recall...

what I found was the passenger side sensor had a voltage of 300mv max....upon removing the rust film of I would guess .005in. the voltage increased to 500mv a/c....

I can't believe that such a small amount of rust caused this sensor output to drop by 40%....

I think that from now on I will check this sensor output every tire rotation....

I hope this helps those that may have this very dangerous failure...

it is an exellent observation and post. rust is, pretty much, FeO2, ferrum oxyde, and is not the best conductor in the world. as much as they charge, sorry, overcharge for those trucks, might as well have them gold tipped.
