WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang

Hi there! I'm new to the forum I've looked upon for some while now.

This is my 6th model and it'll be kinda quick built with minor mods. The kit is Revell's Ford Mustang GT 2005,
scaled in 1/25.
I got it from a friend in a bad shape so I had to fix it first. I always wanted to build the old Eleanor but
neverbought the kit. So I'll practice on this Mustang with body mods like the ones on the Cervini's Mustang.

It'll be painted with Alclad's dark aluminium and decorated with gunmetall stripes. The wheels...
That's another story - if I won't get the Cervini ones from a friend, I'll probably go with the
Sportec Mono.
The big ones - 20" - are Leon Hardiritt in case you want to know.

I haven't done much yet, but here are the pics:

I'll probably go with 19" Sportec mono:

...because it reminds me of Boss Mustang with 19" Enkei NT03:

The pics are bad because they were made in the evening under a desk lamp with a telephone.

Well... I finished 5 models so far and I didn't say I started modelling in November of 2006 -
that should make some sense.
In the meanwhile I had some (and still do have) "neverending projects" like the UTE S13 and the '67 Corvette.

Today I managed to build the sideskirts, which are ready for some putty filling. Not much, but it keeps rolling.
They are made out of three layers of 0.75mm thick styrene.

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang

What do you think of those rims?

That's only for making this topic more interesting.

I scratched the grill from 0.3mm thick sheet of aluminium today. I used Tamiya's scriber and steel rule.
Now I have to do wash to see if it's OK.

Sideskirts are still untouched:

I'm working on the front bumper ATM so I can take a deep breath before sanding of the spoiler and the sideskirts.

I just realized I forgot to fill the side windows to put side scoop over them.

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang

I have a problem with the chassy and wheels. How to get the rear wheels under the chassy? I don't have enough room to place whole wheel under chassy.
It's about 2mm out of body. I looked on the chassy and if I'd sand 2mm inside the mud guard, I'd sand off the fitting of the shock absorber or something like that.

Any ideas?

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang

I could cut off the rear edge of the rim (0.75mm?) and sand the inside of the fender (1.25mm would do the trick).
The easiest way would be to use narrow tires but they don't fit the Cervini's monster.

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang

Looks good! Awesome scratch building! This model is a 1:25 right? and the rims are 1:24 that would make your "19 be bigger than "20 irl.. cant get an exact figure because i dont have the meassure from your rims.

Keep it up!!

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang

Thanks!

The model is in 1/25 scale and I'll use the 19" Sportec Mono wheels which fit the chassy without any mods.
Guess the 2005 Mustang isn't so small because I think the wheels are a bit tiny, but they'll do the trick.

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang

Nice progress.
i would trim some material from the inside of the wheel wells, and add some width to the body with fender flare extensions.

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang

Thanks for the tips! I won't need any mod with these Sportec Mono rims.

It's time for some update...

After I took care of the front bumper's putty, I moved on with the rear side vents.

The last pic is so blurry because I managed to get some fingerprints on the phone's lens... opcorn:
The front bumper got it's final shape, now it's time to do "some" putty corrections on the whole body.
I also grinded off the original inside style of the bonnet with my "Dremel" to make it look like Cervini's.

Here she is

Hope you like it so far...
