Which motor for crx?!
im new to these forums and have a question.
should i build up my SOHC ZC and turbo it or get the notorious LS/VTEC that i have heard both good and bad about? also with the SOHC zc could i use the d16z6 vtec tranny on it, i hear it has the shortest gearing out of all d-series trannys? i have tons of questions to come lol so bear with me. Thanks. |

Re: Which motor for crx?!
Welcome to the forum!
Since your questions are obviously quite specific to a Honda CRX, you should try posting your questions in the CRX/Civic forum. I helped a friend swap in a ZC into his Civic a few years back. I would have sworn it was a DOHC rather than an SOHC. The engine that was in it was a SOHC low power engine. He got the ZC shipped to his door for around $500 and it had less than 30k miles on it according to the paperwork. We had to install an ECU from a Prelude and solder in a few different connectors, but that car ran strong when we were done. I believe he used the stock 5-speed that his Civic had in it. I'm sure the Civic forum will have a lot of opinions and useful information for you. -Rod |

Re: Which motor for crx?!
Hi, Help please
i want to know if u guys could help me figure out whats wrong with my manual 1987 honda crx car because i drive it for like half a mile then it feels like the brakes lock up because it forces itself to go then it comes to a point where it cant go. i tried to push it once so i put it on nuetral and it didnt want to move when i was pushing it and without the emergency brake. the wierd thing is that after a few hours it unlocks but if i drive it again it will happen again. |

You should start a new thread in order to ask this question, because it has nothing to do with the subject matter already posted in this original thread. However, in your case, your brake master cylinder is not allowing the hydraulic fluid pressure to be released from the brake lines. Therefore, the brakes are applying themselves. It is possible that the brake pedal push rod can be adjusted, but more likely, you need a new master cylinder. |
