02 impala ls, no crank, no interior lights, headlights, bad bcm?

I have a 2002 Impala LS with a 3.8motor and need a few answers to some problems that i'm having. Thursday night i come home from work, park my car and everything is fine. Friday morning i went to unlock my doors with the remote(aftermarket alarm), i heard the disarm chrip, but the doors didnt unlock. I manually unlocked the door with my key and noticed no interior lights. I tried to start the car, but didnt get anything when i turned the key. I automatically assumed it was a dead battery, got a jump, but to no avail. Then i thought the alarm was the cause, so i took that out, again to no avail. I then checked all my fuses and none but the radio fuse was popped, changed that but didnt help. I then took my dmm and took readings at the ignition and starter wires and i got accurate reading at the right times. This all occured all of the blue with no warnings. I think it's the bcm because the door locks, interior lights and radio dont work. The headlights dont work normally, but i noticed the headlights came on only when the key was in the on position. Could someone please help me, this is my only means of transportation. Thanks in advance!

I also noticed that the door ajar lights no longer come on in the message center when a door is opened with the ignition on. The security light and the service vehicle soon light is also now on.

Ya defiantly sounds like a fried BCM to me. amazing how stupidly sensitive they are to nothing eh?

But just for the hell of it Check all your grounds. They've been known to cause some funky ass problems LIKE that.

Try putting the key in the on position for 10 or 11 minutes. This usually resets the security system. It's worth a shot. I've done the passlock bypass on my 02 impala LS a year ago, and just recently did I start having Security light issues again. I did have the same issues though, with the no start issues randomly happening. Try to reset the security light. Good Luck!!

Only thing is he said his radio don't work nor does his headlights, so I'm leaning towards BCM. I've had to replace my BCM, and know it can cause some strange erratic problems, and they do just die outta the blue like that mine sure as hell did.

sounds like your battery is shorted out if you tried jumping it. and there at your stater if it wont crank and it's either.take a good battery and put in see it will crank the starter if it don't crank or it's got somthing wrong with power suply going to starter...

remove the alarm ...also have battery load tested...before you start spending any money..

the RADIO fuse being blown may indicate a short circuit...is this a aftermarket radio ???? did this radio tap into other circuits...??????

i removed the alarm, but it didnt make a difference and yes it is an aftermarket cd player installed with the adapter to retain the original chimes. i also have an optima yellow top battery that has been in the car for about a year.

obviuosly from here I can't say for sure that the alternator is shorted, but this is another possibility....the diodes in the regulator short out or sometimes have excessive current leakage....so get battery and alternator tested...

unless you have the equiptment and knowledge to use this equiptment ,,I can't make any determnation as to what is causing your problem ...

in other words I need voltage reading and test results of what needs investigating...fuses ,battery , alternator , ground connections ,starter connections ....looking at the intensity of some light bulb doesn't tell all..

the interior lights dont work at all, the doors locks dont work at all(but i get a reading from the lock/unlock wire with my dmm), headlights only works with the key in the on position, radio doesnt work at all. all fuses have been checked, double checked and triple checked and they are all good.

also the trunk release switch doesnt work and the keyless entry remote doesnt work. That's i'm leaning more towards a bad bcm.

I still don't see any test results of fuses voltages and all that I previously mentioned...

Did you check your Radio Fuse BEFORE or AFTER you tried to jump start it? because The two times I've had to jump start my car (and was hooked up CORRECTLY by a mechanic...) I blew the Radio fuses (stock radio too) and we never figured out why, but that could explain your blown radio fuse.
