Working torque range for impact wrench?
What would be a good working torque range for impact wrench.NOT max torque range.I know that max torque is worthless. If you want to know what i need it for i will be trying to break rusted bolts loose. And lug nuts.I already tried 230 max torque and it was crap.I was looking at a farmhand brand impact wrench at tractor supply company it has 450 lb max and 50-400 working torque.

Re: Working torque range for impact wrench?
That should be plenty for the average guy in the garage. I personally have an ingersol with 800 max lb-ft of torque and even that isn't enough for some of the things I do. I have been looking into the 1,000 (i think) lb ft for a little while. I know what you mean about cost but you get what you pay for!

Re: Working torque range for impact wrench?
i am not saying anything bad about igersoll rand.i now sometimes you can pay to much.but it is like when you talk to fisherman shimano is the only thing that will catch fish.or stratose is the only boat.or levi is the the only pants.jeep is the only 4x4.i believe that other companies can make things to.you always dont have to pay the most for things to be good.

Re: Working torque range for impact wrench?
You don't have to tell me twice. I have been using the original craftsman wrenches and socket that I bought when I first started turning wreches over 13 years ago. I can't complain about them at all. I am really bad at loosing those two items so it doesn't pay for me to spend the extra bucks on the "SNAP-On" stuff. I am saying that we have had guys in our shop over the years who have picked up the less expensive airtools because the didn't have the cash to get the good stuff. The all eventually buy the good stuff after borrowing mine or somebody elses. Ingersol is deffinetely on top of there game . Is there less expensive options, absolutely. Will they work, yup. All I am saying is I have never been afraid to pay for what I think is the best for my needs, wether its the most or least expensive.
If you do buy it let us know what you think of it. If it turns out to be pretty decent I'm sure a lot of folks will be interested!
