Question 2000 1500 Silverado Trans noise on load..

I Got an interesting sound from my transmision today, had been on a car event = heavy loads + trailer
When driving upwards, i got a screaming sound from the trans.
Couldnt do anything about it then so when i got home now and had unloaded the car i tried to get the same sound again, and I did but only when driving slow and gave full throtle, if i drive away smooth everything sounds just like normal, this was in the 2HI gear, tried in the 4HI gear and then it seems quiet

Any ideas?

Yes, I always use the Tow/Haul mode, and it makes the most noise in low speeds during load...

Re: 2000 1500 Silverado Trans noise on load..

I´ve located the sound to the rear axel now tried to change oil i the diff with out any results... wonder if it could be the rear joint that is making the sound... because while going in reverse everything sounds like normal and if going forward in slow speed i can hear a squeaking sound for every 1/2 rev from the driveshaft...

Anyone that have had any simular problem?

Definitely start with changing the drive shaft u-joints. Hope it works for you.
