Tire reccomendation Malibu Maxx

Looking for some real world recomendations for a replacement tire for the Malibu Maxx. My priorities are quietness, snow/water performance, and life in that order. I am a little hesitent to pay $100 a pop for the stock BFGoodrich Insignia's if there is a better tire out there for the same or a little more. My current ones have 48K and I wants some fresh duds for winter. One has flat spots or something as it shakes for the first few minutes each highway drive.

I don't know how far you are from a boarder city to Canada but Canadian Tire has a line, Motomaster. These are made by BF Goodrich. I have a set of
P215 60R15. Work good on snow ice and rain.

Usually there is sales, by one, get second for half price. Ranging from $70- $85.00. With the value of USD. and using a credit card you will get better bang for your buck! Just don't pay with currency, you will not get as good of exchange rate as your bank will give you.
And finally, don't declare them!!!

I think Midland, Michigan is too far from Canada to be worth the drive.

Besides, I have owned and seen far too many wobbling, lumpy Motomasters to ever consider them. Imo they are very similar to the 'Cornell' brand that one gets at Walmart.

Imho go to a decent tire shop. Talk to the guys about getting an off-brand tire that's made by a major manufacturer, preferably a premium maker, like Michelin, Dunlop, Bridgestone etc.)

Major manufacturers make such tires to sell at lower prices without cheapening the brand. The tires themselves are often identical to a more expensive brand-name.

In the past, I bought some off brand tires. ("Trail AT") that were made by Michelin, (half the price of an otherwise-identical Michelin) and they were great!!

I recommend you go to a well recognized tire shop and ask them for a good replacement tire. My experience is that
i) I get a good tire. The name is not necessarily the well known brand name - I've purchased all season SIGMA Ultrex and CORD Tour Plus both made by BF Goodrich.
ii) Rotation every 10,000 Km (6,200 miles) no charge
iii) Fix flats, no charge. Just this morning they remounted both front tires on the rim because the bead was leaking - extreme winter temperature fluctuations up here. With a smile and no fee.
Sure, nothing is for free, but it's great that 50,000 km (31,ooo miles) after installation I can still go in and get a nail removed or tires rotated, all at the cost of a cheery "good morning!"

Thanks for the feedback guys, but it's a little to late, since I purchased the tires in Sept. I ended up staying with the stock Insignia's. They aren't the best snow tire, but they are quiet and last reasonable long. Almost went with some BFGoodrich Precept or Goodyear comfort treads. We use the goodyears on our van and they are superior in snow and sooo quiet. Problem is they wear out at 40k, which is why I stayed away from them.
