1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee instrument cluster

Hello all.
I am wondering about a certain problem that has just developed in the dash cluster of my jeep. I drove 30 miles out of town today (one way), but on my way back the dash in my jeep went haywire. I looked down to see the spedometer and everything else at zero. The needles would then jump all the way to their highest levels for the gas, spedometer, oil pressure and such, and all the lights came on. Then about ten miles down the road it came back then about five minutes later it did it again. I checked the fuse and it was fine. Any ideas????

People usually see this with a weak battery or dirty battery terminals.
