2000 Buick LeSabre Limited window disfunction

My window could not close. The garage guy says the regulator of the window is damaged, and the fix cost is expensive. I wonder if I can repair it myself. Does anybody know such kind of things? Could you tell me how to fix it? Thanks!

Re: 2000 Buick LeSabre Limited window disfunction

I have replaced all the window regulators in my 2000 Lesabre and If you are at least a little handy, you can replace your regulator for a fraction of the cost of having it done by a professionl. Here is a site that provides color photos of the "how to". http://flickr.com/groups/buickwindowregulator.
There's only one screw holding the door panel and it's behind the courtesy light. The rest are plastic pry out fasteners. After removal of the screw and the door lever bezel you should be able to use a screw driver (large) to pry the fasteners loose and lift the panel up and away from the door. NOTE: If your car is equipped with the tweeter speakers that sit on top of the door panel, it to has a plastic pop in type fastener. Just pry it away also and remove the connector. Good Luck
