Pontiac dealer should be able to make a new set from the VIN. Give them a call & see what it will cost.

A transponder key has a small computer chip in it for security. The dealer is probably the best way to go.

Re: 1999 pontiac montana lost keys please help!
The dealer is going to charge you $150 per key for this 'service'. You can buy the keys on ebay; you send them your VIN code and they ship you a key that will work on the transponder. The ebay sellers do not cut the metal part of the key however and in your case tha'ts going to be a problem.
Given that you own a good key already, you buy the right transponder blank from the ebay sellers and then take it to your local walmart to have it cut to match the one you own. Without the orginal, you have to get a dealer to cut the key based on the vin number--unless you know a guy in the shop, you will have to buy a transponder key. Just add this cost into your purchase price if you are thinking of buying the van... |
