Key stuck in Trunk Lock - 95 Olds Cutlas Ciera

My key is stuck in my trunk lock - the trunk still closes and you can turn the key just enough to get it back open, but the key won't come out. I tried WD-40 but then read some where that that was the worst thing I could do - oops. Does anyone have another solution?

I was considering removing the lock but I don't want to spend a lot of money for a new lock, I'd rather just leave the key there (I have a spare) and not use the trunk, or break it off and say goodbye to the trunk forever.

Any suggestions for getting my key out? Or does anyone know how much it costs to replace the lock - is this something I can do myself? Thanks for your suggestions!!

Welcome to AF!

Just get some vise grips on the key close to the lock and pull it out! Might try some oil to lubricate it first. Wiggling it up and down, NOT side to side or it'll break, should help loosen the gunk holding it in the keys in the lock cylinder.
