the car ran fine then started to run hot. I stopped and added water and drove a little further and it started running hot (not redhot) i added more and made it home. I checked to see what had happened and realized all my water was in my oil. long story short, i had a blown intake gasket. I replaced head gasket as well and now there is no compression unless i leave the rocker arms loose. lifters are not pumping oil. could the lifters have collapsed? or is it somrthing worse? its a 96 with 3100 single cam. it didnt use oil and ran like a dream before this.

The oil and water mixture gummed up my lifters. they had pumped up and would not release. I cleaned them and all is running well again!!
