came across this and thought it interesting because of my own interests in martial arts and well, acts of sheer stupidity are always worth a laugh.

what does concern me though, is that this story can oh so easily have turned out not funny at all.

18 months in jail? You could run over and kill somebody on a motorcycle or a bicycle and get off only doing community service - or nothing at all.
But over a year for not actually hurting anything? System's kind of FUBAR.
I hope they don't end up doing that much time. Kind of surprised the police didn't just give them a warning and drive them back to their parents house.

Well. You know that the cops hate it when you do their job better than them. They'll put these two kids with good, albeit misguided intentions into prison for longer than the drug dealers. Great system.

They went to confront drug dealers with throwing stars and swords? Wow. That's pretty stupid. Drug dealers around here carry anything/everything from 9mm handguns to 12-gauge shotguns and AK-47s.

You missed the point. He lives in the UK, which is anti-gun. That's the place that says the pro-gun argument claiming gun bans only keep honest people from owning them and do little to prevent bad guys from owning them is ridiculous, yet boast about how well armed their criminals are.

Yeah,banning guns and adding more laws doesnt work.It just punishes the people who need protection & who follow the laws already.Criminals could care less about bans & laws,obviously
