94 Trans Sport missfire problem...bad Ign. Mod. ?
my 94 trans sport 3.8L is misfiring at idle. I pulled the plug wires one at a time at the coils...the top 4 all had spark and the bottom 2 (1, 4) had no spark. I measured the primary & secondary resistance and they were good so I swapped this coil pack with one of the others and and it worked fine (had spark) and the coil pack that I moved to the bottom position now had no spark. Is this a definite bad Ignition Module ?
Also it is very rich, smells heavy of gas...dumping fuel assuming from cylinders 1 & 4 and causing the cat to glow red... Scott Last edited by scottd60; 09-02-2008 at 01:12 PM. |
