1999 Sable Airbag light on steady - no flashing
I have a 1999 Sable 131,000 miles. The airbag light comes on with ignition on and remains on once started. It never flashes and never goes out. Only codes were for EGR (1401) and heater sensor (141). Pulled and replaced 5A fuse that tested good. Does anyone have some insight into this condition? Thanks in advance!

Re: 1999 Sable Airbag light on steady - no flashing
Airbag warning lights are exactly that...a warning that the airbag system is not operating properly. When they illuminate, the system is inactive. That means, obviously, the airbags will not deploy if you are in an accident.
For the most part airbag issues are not for the DIYer. Do yourself [and your family] a favor and get the car to a qualifed mechanic. I know this is not what you want to hear, but when an airbag needs to deploy, it really needs [sic] to deploy. |
