Brakes on 2006 Colorado

I have a 2006 colorado,17000 miles. The front brake keeps making a high pitch squeaky sound. when I put my foot lightly on the brake the noise stops.Any idea what the problem is ??? thanks

I have had the same problem since the truck was almost new. I now have over 66,000 miles on my 06 Colorado. Most of the time it happens when it is wet out, or early in the morning. Each time I am having my tires rotated and the mechanic tells me that the brakes are just fine. I hear that you can put some sort of stop-squeak on the calipers and it goes away.
