2000 ford focus transmission

Transmission blew violently, spewing parts all over the road.
Yes, it had over 100K, but this seems really dangerous.

Were you 'Rawhide'n' her Mike?
Was this a manual or automatic? They sell Kevlar blankets at speed shops to protect from this sorta thing.

Automatic Transmission. My daughter was driving...I wasn't there; just saw all the parts all over the place.

BTW, I would never have bought this. It had the suspension problems mentioned in this forum, also. More scrap metal to be turned into a Hyundai!

A trip to a scrapyard is probably in order. If you want a rebuilt you will need a good core. Otherwise buy a good used one.
