Engine stalled 93 transport
I have a 93 transport 3.8 and the motor stalled suddenly at a light. It then tries to start again but will not run very long. The CEL is not on but there is a code 41 that comes up when I short the A and B terminals under the steering column.
It seems to be a camshaft position sensor. Is this hard to change and is it just the sensor that I should check. Thanks |

Re: Engine stalled 93 transport
A faulty cam sensor will cause the problems you describe, mine certainly did. Fairly easy to change, you may have to remove the alternator for access, then disconnect sensor wires and bolt. It is located next to the water pump

Re: Engine stalled 93 transport
Well I had to reply back on this one. The CEL read code 41 so I changed the Cam shaft sensor and no luck.
My gas gauge said 1/4 full but I put in a gallon of gas in anyway. Turned the key and it started and ran. My daughter has been driving the car for a few months so I guess the gas gauge is fryed and it was out of gas. At least the sensor wasnt hard to change. Thanks for everyones help anyway. A lesson for me to be learned!!!! |
