As I was hauling 2 arm-fulls of groceries from my 1990 Grand Caravan, I attempted to close the door with my foot (which I've done *countless* times--don't pretend, YOU'VE done it, too!). Somehow (?), the whole sliding door CAME OFF. the only component that remained attached to the vehicle was the bottom sliding arm.
My wife and I toiled with it for about 2-hours in the dark, with only a flashlight. We cannot seem to get the door popped back into the tracks. No parts *appear* to be damaged; there is a slight bend in the top rail of the exterior sliding path (but EVER SO SLIGHT...). The vehicle has more miles than you can imagine, so we'd like to get this resolved *at home*, if you know what I mean. Is there a special tool we need, or a special order to get all of the armatures back into position and on-track properly? Anyone, everyone, please respond SOON! Let's leave out any commentary on the stupidity of my actions with the groceries. I've already heard it twice from my wife. MPP |

Don't feel 2 dopey!! We've all "kicked 'em shut".
My suggestion would be: Oh yes! I remember now! Remove the plastic trim from around the window. ( Prop the door up somehow or have a friend help you hold it so you may work with it). Look at the upper slider arm. remove either set of bolts/screws (there are four altogether, two remove the entire arm, the other two just the extension). Now having this done, look at the REAR end of the inner top track. Remove the 10mm bolt so you can remove the "stop". Now inseret your slider arm into the track, have your friend help align the slider bolt holes, reattach the arm. Replace your trim and VIOLA! Gone back to the grocer's.....
