Running Rough/Stalling Out.
Im working on a:
1993 Oldsmobile 88 3.8 I just got done replacing the plugs and wires (Standard AC Delco's gapped at .060 and Duralast wires). My friend was complaining on the vehicle running rough and said he wanted them replaced. The car has been running rough for quite a few weeks I guess. The engine temp gauge on the dash has been working on and off, but for the most part off. Seems like a intermittent problem. When the vehicle is cold/hot it runs horrible. I'm thinking right now the coolant temperature switch. Being because the gauge is not working at all right now. I'm going to pull the switch tomorrow and test it. What else do you think I should check besides that? Thanks for the feedback. |

Re: Running Rough/Stalling Out.
Welcome to AF, runs rough means?, misfire, rough idle, how is the power, have you scanned it, disconnect the maf to see how it runs?

Re: Running Rough/Stalling Out.
Ya it has a very rough idle leading to stall outs. Don't have a scanner but ill borrow one from my friend and check it out. Ill unplug the MAF and see if it changes anything also.
Thanks. |
