Engines for stock Supras

Hey guys
I was wondering, if i buy a non-turbo Supra, will it or will it not have a 2JZ in it?, i'm thinkin it wouldn't but i'm not too sure.
And if it doesn't would i be able to fit a turbo kit to it? or would that be insane.
Thanx for the help

It is a 2JZ, but not a 2JZ-GTE. The t stand for turbo so its something like a 2JZ-GE or FE or something like that.
U cant just put a turbo on it coz the internals arent as strong and the compression ratio is much higher than the turbo versions.
Much cheaper to buy a TT supra in the first place. if u change engines to a turbo 2JZ, then u will have to upgrade brakes, driveline, fuel system etc etc. Better just to get the TT in the first place.

Its not really the same engine. You can put a turbo kit on it. I know a couple people with a NA-T (turboed NA), but you dont really get that much out of it. Much better to just buy a TT off the bat. Plus the turbo kit is expensive.
