95 S-10 Sputtering

From stop, it will sputter and miss at slow acceleration, and seem a lot better at higher speeds. Worse is a slow steady speed around 10mph, where it will almost die with a slight holding of the accelerator. But once you give it some gas, it helps.

Oh, and there is no check engine light, so I might assume it's non of the emission parts.

Thus far, (I'm no mechanic obviously) I've changed the plugs, plug wires, fuel and air filters. Zero help so far.

I would certainly appreciate any further advice. Thanks.

Re: 95 S-10 Sputtering

What engine and engine code?
Needs fuel pressure checked and put on a engine capable scanner and data and codes read out.
Any flashing engine lights flashing when running?
Have you checked fuel filter?
Post back fuel pressure readings and any codes from scanner.

Re: 95 S-10 Sputtering

I said there is "no check engine light" and I've replaced the fuel filter. I will have my mechanic buddy check my fuel pressure and report back. Thanks again.

Re: 95 S-10 Sputtering

And I said get it on a engine capable scanner and check for code or codes.
And read out all data.
Watch for fuel trims being off and sensor reading right.

Just no check engine light does not say there is not any codes stored in the computer.
Past present or history.
Have a look and see and post back any code no you have.
And even if you have changed the fuel filter it needs rechecked.
Dirty fuel or junk in tank or fuel pump going out will stop up a fuel filter real fast.

You forget to tell us what engine and engine code you have.
To be able to help we need info.
Also Give us the fuel pressure reading.

Re: 95 S-10 Sputtering

check your plugs on both sides and compare i believe if the driver side is black the problem is the fuel pessure regulator, and if there is high miles and money is not problem replace the spider (injectors) this will include the regulator. regulator is sold sept. two
