TPI to Carb
I know this has been disscussed many times, but i need to know.I have a 1999 2500 4x4 and i want to put on an edelbrock with a 600 cfm.Is thier anything else i should know like distributer? or automatic shift cables? Please help.
I have had enough of this pile of **** fuel injection.Very costly airflow sensors,o2 sensors and the list goes on.

Re: TPI to Carb
It will run like crap, cold blooded and I know of one doing this in a 1991 Chevy truck. Was converted to a carb, would not run right, had to pump it a few times and ran like crap.Electronic Fuel Injection is more reliable than a carb. The carb has more parts than EFI and that is one reason why automakers switched to EFI.

As far as a 91 goes thats TBI not TPI,and thats simple to change to a carb, and make it run efficient. |

Re: TPI to Carb
You will need an aftermarket controller for the 4L60E/4L80E tranny (not sure which one you have). TCI makes one GM might even make one. There are no shift cables. You could switch to 700R4 and use a vacuum switch to do TCC lockup but the 4L60E/4L80E will require a controller.

Ebay may also have some. GM Performance Parts may also make a controller. //2000CAYukon |
