radio static when braking

i have posted this in the sunfire general forum with no reply, so i thought i would try just the plain general forum... what happens is when i put my foot on the brake i get static on my radio and as soon as i release the pedal it goes away. i dont know if anyone else has this problem, but when i put the stereo in over a year ago it worked just fine. this all just started happening in the last little while
