Transmission Swap

So I bought a 2001 Alero 3.4 V6 at the auction for $2K a few weeks ago and now 165 miles later, i do not have a 4th gear nor a reverse on my tranny. I got a used tranny for around 300 bucks (will be coming in this Saturday) no core charge.

I was hoping I can get some feedback from this forum about best practices on swapping transmission. I mean since the "new" transmission is from a similar car, this should be just a matter of taking the old one off and putting the new one on, am i right??

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-ep

OK, Found the following article from mr. goodwrench. It looks like it covers the basics...
