Lightbulb QuickWork Around for the Key will not release problem

I have a 1997 chevy blazer. I have the problem where the key will not release when you turn the car off. While fixing my "not starting problem" I discovered the electronic switch that pulls up a silver piston to release the key from the ignition. It can be manually pushed in so you can turn the key back to release it. So after puting my steerring wheel back together, I notice a small round screwcover directly under where the silver piston would be if the ignition covers were taken apart. You can take a bic pen or a wooden sckew no more than 3" long to push up the silver piston.Y ou see the side view if you remove the rubbersquare cover under the ignition key.
God knows how many buses i've missed due to my key unable to be released.
Hope this will help those that may need it.
Pictures to follow
Thanks
