1994 S10 Blazer Starting Problems

I have a 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer 4.3L Vortec "W" vin. About a year ago we began having problems starting it after it sat for a short time. If it sat overnight or longer it would start. My husband figured the fuel filter was getting clogged and replaced it. Everything was fine until about 6 months ago when the problem started again. After determining it had spark (no idea how husband did that) and a shot of carb cleaner it started right up. We also replaced plugs, wires, cap, and rotor at this time as well as an oil change. None of that helped. My husband figured the fuel pump was bad so it sat until we got the money to replace it. After a new pump and sending unit it still wouldn't start. Yesterday he went "back to basics" and checked all wires, battery, coil, cap, rotor, and took the plugs out. That is when he noticed that the plugs were dry, this is after a start attempt. Now he's stumped, not to mention frustrated. He will be bringing home a fuel pressure gauge tonight to check that. Any advice on what else he can do would be greatly appreciated, he's ready to junk it and I just want my second car back.

I hope that all makes sense my husband isn't here and doesn't want to ask for help.

Thanks!
Shawnia

Check the fuel pressure for up to par/spec.
Reckeck for good spark.
Also check injector fuse and fuel pump relay fuse.
Post back on fuel pressure.

Well he just tested the fuel pressure and it is only 17psi, when we tried to start it the pressure didn't change. He's rechecking his installation of the feul pump now also checking the fuel pump relay again.

Re: 1994 S10 Blazer Starting Problems

Check for 12 volts to it and good ground.
Also check direct fuel pressure at in line at fuel filter.
If it was a airtex pump and the pressure is bad take it back and make the adjust it for a good ac delco/delphi fuel pump.

Airtex pumps ar close to junk.
They have a very high come back rate.
