89 c1500 5.7 starts then stalls...

The truck will start and run for about 10 +/- seconds then stall. Has fuel and spark. This problem started after battery change, have replaced IAC Valve, Fuel Pump Relay, EGR Valve, MAP Sensor, Distributor, Coil, batt. cables, as well as Ignition switch and module. Cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, and fuel filter are in good condition and less than a year old. Fuel Pump Primes and runs until engine stalls. After a few tries it will stay running but only for about 20 +/- miles, then cuts off (always at worst time), or sometimes it will run fine, then shut it off at store ect. and starts then stalls again. Please Help I have been fighting this thing for too long and am running out of patience (and $).

EGR? The valve or the sensor? Sensor is new. Coil is about 8 months old, MSD

In your description, did you change the Ignition Control Module, the little black thingy with two electrical connections that sits just under the distributor cap? My 92 gave me similar heart aches awhile back just after a good tune-up and it was the ICM. When that little booger gets old they can't handle the heat anymore, start acting erratic or not at all.

Just my .02 worth...

Yes the distributor came with a new module. But thank you.

Could it be the fuel filler cap?

More ?'s!!! This all started with a simple battery change? In other words did you change the battery because of this problem?

Have you checked the Alt output to the Batt? Should be around 14.2 volts.

I've underlined what you posted about the fuel pump. If it quits running the motor is going to quit running. If that's the case you need to check wiring and grounds to the pump. If all that's good then maybe the pump itself.

As far as the filler cap, it could be a possibility.
