drag launch springs?

What good will come from getting drag launch springs for any car as for this matter really. I know they dont lower a car any but do they help with acceleration or what? whats the point in getting them. other than for the main purpose of drag racing.

You answered your own question. It wouldn't be adviseable to drive drag racing springs on the street. You'd have some serious OVERSTEERING issues.

Not when it's snap oversteer. Most amatuer driver's don't know how to drive with that.

Agreed. Unless you know how to react to it when it happens (which is usually suddenly and without ANY warning), it's definitely not a good, nor even a fun thing. I had it happen to me on a freeway offramp once with a 90 degree 15mph curve halfway down it, and it almost sent my a$$ flying into a wall. Thank goodness I auto-x, have had it happen while doing an auto-x and know how to counter its affects. If I hadn't dealt with it before, I may not be here now telling you about it, or at the least, wouldn't have a car to drive.

And on the street oversteer is SCARY! Especially when you have less room for error compared to an autocross course, where you might snag a cone or two, instead a guard rail.

Samthing happened to me in my wife's car with crap tires. I was getting onto an on ramp and the back end kicked out on a rain slick road. Luckily for me my instinct was to gas it instead of most people's reaction to brake harder which induces more oversteer.

Wow, I'd never even think to gas it MORE if the road is wet like that.

In my situation the road was perfectly dry, but when my rear slid out to my left on a right hand curve, I had my fronts COMPLETELY counter steered to the opposite direction of the curve, which when the oversteer snap occured, I found myself pointed now towards potentially oncoming traffic since the off ramp is right next to the onramp, and all the divides the two is a small curb bump thing. Luckily no cars were coming at that moment, so I totally would have gone into the ONramp lane if I had needed to, but I tried what I could to stay on my side of the ramp. Very scary indeed though... This happened on my current set of Kumho 711's. This was the only time they have lost all grip with the road like this, anyother time and they handle like a charm.
