1999 Silverado AC

Hey guys I am new here and tried looking around for a while to get an answer to my problem. I don't really know how to navigate this site towell so forgive me if this has been answered before. With that being said here is my question, I started my ttruck this morning and when i put my AC on it only would blow when it was on 5. Number 1-4 would not blow at all. If I am not mistaken I think it's called a rheostat?? If this is the problem does anyone know where I can get one and where is it located in my truck?

this is the blower motor resistor/relay module ....it is located at the blower motor on passenger side under glove box ...need small metric socket to remove plastic panel....very common failure...defective design make sure the filter is replaced or clean as the restrictions of air flow will cause these modules to fail/...

well, though jcat is right, here's my question: does the blower work in modes 1 to 4? or it blows only in 5? as the way it is, they have a/c switch linked to the blower switch, if blower is on off, a/c will not turn on. so, if your blower works 1 through 5, but a/c works only on 5, then your climate control unit is bad, not rheostate. it's simple pull out/replace job, i'd buy one off junk yard to start with.

If it blows only on 5 this means the resistors are bad or that circuit module...5 has no resistors 12vdc direct....resistor/relay all in one...I think this can be had for 30.oo not dealer though!!!!
