High Idle Speed Question..

I have an 04 Town Car and I had the fuel system serviced and fuel filter replaced; throttle body cleaned, intake cleaned, etc. Now when it is idling it will go almost 30 mph without pressing gas. i took it back to station and there are no vacuum leaks, no fuel leaking and all the connections along the air intake hose are tight. does anyone know what could cause this?

Re: High Idle Speed Question..

The place that serviced it caused the problem.. make 'em fix it.

Re: High Idle Speed Question..

This sounds like they have adjusted your throttle control cables. They may have done so if they serviced the intake or throttle body. Have them re adjust this and it should go back to normal. If not then it may be an idle air control valve problem. May need cleaning or if they cleaned it it may have gone bad. This is a common problem with the newer cars so if it is then be prepared to pay a hefty price for a new one. They are not cheap. If not that then it has to be a vacuum leak somewhere. hope this helps.
