1984 Cadillac coupe deville wont start

I have a 1984 cadalliac coupe deville, The engine won't start, but I have spark and Im getting gas to the engine.
By the way the car is fuel injection. I need help! does anyone know what the problem could be, please get back to me asap. ...

I assume this the 4100, correct, if so it is a TB engine, remove the air cleaner see if the injectors spray when cranking and/or check fuel pressure or spray cab cleaner into the intake see if it starts, these are all basic diagnostic steps for what you describe..

Ive done all of that, and the car doesnt start. We even tried starting the car with starter fluid, It didnt turn over or anything.

You have done it but what were the results, the injectors were spraying? You say it wouldn't turnover,that means the engine will not crank let alone start or turns over/cranks but wont fire. If so your spark is too weak to fire the plugs even though you can see spark ,or you have an internal mechanical problem.

i have an 84 deville also and have had the same problem, i changed almost every tune part i could then found that water had gotten the the gas tank some how so i dumped it and it runs like a champ

Ok it turned out the timing chain had to be replaced. We replaced the timing chain, and now the car starts but it is rough and sounds like it is missing. Even when i turn the distributor the car doesnt idle any better. We put #1 cylinder to top dead center, We made sure the distributor is plugged into #1 and when we start it, Its just real rough. Any Thoughts?

May have bent a valve, do a compression test.
