1996 DOHC timing chains

My M-IL has the same car but a 99 and she told me that if I am getting the transmission rebuilt in my car, to go ahead and do the timing (belts) as they had to move her transmission some to get to them and it would be easier for me since the transmission will be out of the car. Does anyone have access just to the page that shows the diagram for the timing chains and post it online?

Also does anyone know what the recommended replacement interval for the timing chains is?

Thanks!

Re: 1996 DOHC timing chains

The timing chains are on the front of the engine; the trans is mounted to the back of the engine.

Nowhere in the repair procedure does it say to remove the transmission.

There is no specific interval for replacement of a timing chain.

From the service manual:

Exploded view of the right timing chain and related components (left side is similar) —3.0L (4V) engine

Unfasten the engine front cover in the sequence illustrated 3.0L DOHC engine
