textured grip oil filter!?

Have you guys seen the new textured grip filter from Purolator? I bought one for my Jeep. I went to change my oil and after looking at the filter i see that some of the texture grip stuff they put on it is also on the inside! not deep inside the filter but past the 0 ring where the oil would hit it. Its not alot of it but still........Whats up with this?

I ended up not using it. Would you use it or am i just overreacting? I went and looked at another one in the store and it was the same way.

Re: textured grip oil filter!?

I would use it. Fram has always had texture grip filters, that work nicely, and never noticed the grip anywhere but where it is supposed to be.
