question..
Would anybody know if a non-variable power steering pump will work on a variable steering car??

It would probly work mechanicly , but not electronicly, you would have ABS and other lights illuminated on the gauge cluster, and possibly loose ABS/traction control functions. Could even effect your transmission shifts.
So no, it wont work.
