Steering wheel vibration at idle ?
97 breeze 2.0 auto
Has anyone figured out how to correct the steering wheel vibration on these things when you're sitting at a red light? I checked the motor mounts and they seem fine. That seems to be the only answer I have found in the forums for this issue. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated |

Re: Steering wheel vibration at idle ?
If you're feeling a vibration in your steering wheel at idle, It has to be the engine or trans touching some part of your steering linkage (rack&pinion). Check the transaxle (transmission) mount? That's the only thing it could be. I know it's tight under there but try looking from underneath. Good luck!

Re: Steering wheel vibration at idle ?
I looked it ver really close this past weekend, and cannot seem to see anything touching the rack unit. Are you refering to the top transaxle mount on the fender well, or the round ones on the bottom. I belive its called the saddle?

Re: Steering wheel vibration at idle ?
If the weather is good tomorrow I'll be doing my front brakes (2000 Breeze) 2.4. I'll look to see what could be touching the steering column rag joint or slip joint. Something has to be making contact to make it vibrate at an idle.
