wont start after water pump change
![]() i cannot figure out why my car wont start can i put the timing belt on backwards?dont have too much tension tensioner is on correctly it wants to start but just wont turn over car has had a complete tune up to include new timing belt what am i doin wrong? |

There's no backwards, but the timing of the pulleys when you slip it on is critical. Did you align the timing marks?

Also make sure you reconnected your crank sensor if it's a later model.

there isnt a way 2 put the belt on backwards sounds like ur timeing is off i would double check it the crank pullie has a small notch in it between some of the holes for the balancer pullie and u use the mark on the cam that is rite above the keyway on the cam pullie then rotate the engin over and then check it
