97 grand cherokee headlights and dash lights flashing

i was driving home the other night and all of the sudden my headlights and dash lights started flashing(in sequance). it happened for about 15 seconds and has only happened one other time before that. i have auto mode and i normally leave the head light swich on auto. is there any known problems with that system?.Oh,and the damn "coolant sensor bad" intermentantly displays. i dont know if they are related but my thought is YES.

Re: 97 grand cherokee headlights and dash lights flashing

There systems are not related, but the cause of the problem is related to bad solder joints. Take the headlight switch apart and you'll see metal jumpers that bridge the mainboard to the harness connector, resolder the jumpers on the mainboard. As for the damn "coolant sensor bad" remove the VIC out of the dash and take it apart and resolder the harness connector to the mainboard.
