silver metallic paint questions

hi there. I am having some trouble determining what metallic silver paint i should get. I was going to get the dupli color metal specs but is it flat, gloss or what. I have never used metallic paint ever so some help is always welcome, please.

Re: silver metallic paint questions

I use Dupli-Color metallics all the time and never had problems.

Look for two things on their label.

The first is the word "Metallic" or "(M)" on the description of the paint. The "Metallic" obviously tells you what you want to know, but not everyone knows that "(M)" means the same thing. Some spray cans will have either or both.

The second item is "cc". This means that the paint goes on flat and that you will have to apply a clear coat to make it glossy. This may sound inconvenient but, actually, this is a much more forgiving system for painting. The paint can go on thin and the gloss coat will give it a deeper shine than if you used a single coat system.

Finally their caps are a very good indicator of the paint since they paint the color right onto them.
