Map Sensor/Maf Sensor

Hi, I'll try to describe this as best I can. I have a 97 GT 3.8 and the orange rubber piece that fits on the part of the Map sensor that inserts into the pcv valve housing has finally come off. Does anyone know what or where I can replace this with? Buying a whole new sensor seems illogical since the only thing I need is this orange rubber piece that helps secure vacuum. By the way, I've been getting a P0102 SES light "MAF" on and off for the last two weeks and I'm beginning to think my map sensor is connected. I would like to replace this orange piece because I'm hearing a slight vacuum leak at the map sensor. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Map Sensor/Maf Sensor

You should have mentioned this earlier Paul. I had a spare MAP sensor seal that I sent to another AF member. I don't believe you can purchase the exact accordian seal separately. But the seal does come with any new Delco or aftermarket MAP sensor like the Wells or AZ Duralast brands.

You may have a separate issue with the MAF sensor DTC and they may not be related.

However, better getting the seal issue done first.

I don't the what the price of a new MAP is but you can always go to a junk yard, or post ***LINK EDITED OUT BY MODERATOR*** in the parts section.

Re: Map Sensor/Maf Sensor

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I'll figure something out. The car runs great right now so it'll buy me a little time to look around.

Sorry but no link(s) to other auto forums that takes you to a registration page. Link has been removed. However, I may allow link(s) to a tech procedure or thread located at another auto forum that covers the OP's issue but up to my discretion.

NA SII 3800 issue only since the GTP L67 MAP sensor is different. The MAP sensor is located at the right side of the UIM over the PCV valve. See pic below. It is that orange accordian seal that gets bad. Probably because the MAP sensor mounting bracket was installed 180 degrees out and the MAP sensor forced to fit into the forked retainers.

Re: Map Sensor/Maf Sensor

Wow, Thanks Bob!

Guess I've never dealt with 3800NA Map sensors, but now I will know what to look for in future diagnosis.

Your info is greatly appreciated.
