Re: Installing fuel pressure regulator 3.5 engine
Just to clarify a couple of things, the Intrigue started in the 1998 model year and it was with the 3.8L engine. So if you have a 1998 Intrigue, it has the 3.8L engine.
Someone will be along to help you with the replacement of the fuel pressure regulator. How did you determine that you need a new fuel pressure regulator? The reason I ask is many of us have suffered symptoms that seemed fuel related and later was determined to be related to the ignition system. |

Re: Installing fuel pressure regulator 3.5 engine
Thanks for reply. I made a mistake in the year it is a 1999 3.5.
I determined it was the regulator by reading this entries on ths forum but could be wrong. My car starts perfect after sitting all night (one short crank) but after it warms up it takes sever cranks to start. Your help is appreciated. |

Re: Installing fuel pressure regulator 3.5 engine
One last question before the experts get here from work....OK two questions.
Do you have any "check Engine" lights and do you have any driveability issues? |

Re: Installing fuel pressure regulator 3.5 engine
Here's a link(s) to a thread discussing the FPR. It looks you should check the fuel pressure before replacing it.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...sure+regulator http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...sure+regulator You can also do a search on the Intrigue forum for "fuel Pressure regulator". Since you don't have any check engine lights, you are probably looking at the fuel pressure regulator or an ignition switch issue. I'm leaning toward the ignition switch. |

Re: Installing fuel pressure regulator 3.5 engine
Thanks for your help.
I have gone to two auto parts stores and they both ordered the wrong part (dia. of lip a about an inch, my regulator dia. is over two inches. Auto zone has ordered me one from their warehouse and I hope it is the right one. The clerk took a look at the one in my car so he will know when it comes in if it is a go. I pick it up Tuesday. |

Re: Installing fuel pressure regulator 3.5 engine
Thanks everyone who tried to help me. My problem WAS the pressure regulator and I also replaced a couple of o rings on the fuel injectors. I did have to take it to my mechanic who bought the pr from the dealer.
