shift knob removal

Does anybody know how to remove the shift knob on a '05 Colorado? I've tried twisting it and just pulling it off, but it won't budge.

You have to remove the stick from the transmission with an Allen wrench. Just pull the boot and cover up, it will pop right off. Once you have the stick off you have to cut the black plastic off with a razor. Then it will expose a hard plastic knob which you have to break off with a hammer.
