power steering

Let my wife drive my truck yesterday, she comes home and say the truck is hard to turn. I checked the fluid and it was low. So i filled it up and it still will not turn. All help is appreciated. Thanks

1. you did not bleed the system, did you? if it got air in....
2. why is the fluid low???????????? any leaks, bent lines, things of that nature? PS fluid stays at the right level for LONG time if everything is OK.

had the same problem with my 97 silverado.all of a sudden stoped working.opened the the hood pulley was turning,took belt off,and the shaft had sheered off inside the pump
